Ever wonder what developing a small nonprofit is like?

As some of you know, I have re-joined Emerge in Sri Lanka... the place, the venture, and the community where my soul found its home nearly 19 years ago. We support teenage survivors of childhood trauma, including sexual abuse, in their journey to heal, develop their self-sufficiency, and lead change in their communities.

From founder, to board member, to CEO again, it has been a gift to invest in this incredible community through so many phases. I arrived back in Sri Lanka with my dog, Pax, in early February, and the past four months have been a whirlwind: Strengthening Emerge's core programs, growing our community, moving our office, renovating and re-launching the Emerge Centre... and, getting every virus imaginable along the way. :)

Here's a 3 min video of my last four months of nonprofit life in the tropics. And, this phase is just getting started! πŸ‘ 🌴 πŸ’“
